Successful negotiating requires you have a strategy. The clearer your strategy before negotiating, the more successful you will be. At the core of the strategy is what I refer to as the “3 Ts of Negotiating: Trust, Time, and Tactics.”

Trust – The more trust you and the other party have in each other, the less need there will be to negotiate. The risk is in knowing whether the trust is real or perceived.

For my job I negociate.. So I didnt look at it as any other way… I figured I know they need me and being that we are a smaller place I can help them if they help me — helping each other =)
I know I dont have to get paid anything, part of our contract is if I am on maternity leave they pay 60% for 8 wks with no work. So I figured if I can do Some work from home maybe I can have that bumped up a bit.

as important as demining and resettlement in the context of world record stakes makes the government look not only insincere and childish in its pursuits but also grandstanding and wasteful in the process. Certain elements appointed to government are acting as small children playing games instead of as intelligent, sentient adults that utilize capacities and skills in a manner that is coherent, legitimate and is not based on “troika” negotiations as they do not come into fruition;. At the end of the war it was determined that three years would be needed to demine, certify and return peoples to original areas of habitat-regardless of harrasment or grandstanding, that remains the truth. Rajapakse in costumes of field marshall, sailing outfits and other assorted paraphenalia does not conote any type of intelligence it is just a show and we do not have time for Rajapakse to regale us with his novice acting skills. The team that General Fonseka has put together is credible, intellectually superior and is willing to take on the mandate of bringing to our peoples a government that is answerable to the peoples, one that is willing to move forth in to modern governance by setting standards of discipline and accountability. Sri Lanka has had 30 years of war and complete disorder and I believe that there are members of government that can be retrained to work under a new system and others that just need to retire. Since Rajapaksa is so close to his retirement age he should just do so. A year or 2 of reconfiguring government and services to a methodology that is understandable instead of barreling down the same road of chaotic partisan based politics is not the same as military rule and the hypothesis of certain parties that military rule is the only option to the Rajapaksa administration are incorrect. This is the time to establish standards and practices that far improve how Sri Lanka operates. If Rajapakse cannot control the behaviours of his own people in Habantota (that has been burning down opposition party offices) how does he expect to be a credible mediator with those people? The three distinct styles of government under Rajapaksa, Wickremesinghe and Kumaratunga have each proved to be ineffective to gaining peace and prosperity and much more attuned to creating more war. Sri Lanka needs to stop being the cast off recepient of India as well as continual prey to the “conspiracies” of Kumaratunga, Rajapakse and Wickremesinghe it is time to pave way for the next generation instead of being mired in thirty years of personality politics where each and every personality has been ousted. A future free of terrorism must be affiliate to a future without the same old policies and practices of the same tired politicians. We sucseeded in the fight against terrorism largely due to the fact that we did things differently and to revert back to the same illegal system that has been predicating every decision for ALL citizens. The world is tired of little places like Sri Lanka wno come under defunct leadership and believe that public relations skits are going to assuage for the bald facts that even in the small berg that Rajapakse hailed from he cannot establish a democratic rule. There has yet to be a development plan released, there has yet to be a remedy for the 40 year old road system or the same tired agreements regarding bilking the general population. Where is the answer to the missing tsunami funds? Where is the response to whether Rajapakse in his executive tenure has maintained citizenship in foreigh countries? What is the reason that the only rails project that Rajapakse can arrive at is the same one that brings only old technology that is being phased out by the manufacturers instead of bringing us the best product for the price? There are several generations that have nothing to do with the thirty years of havoc and are much more interested in effective adminstration, law and order and a system of justice and law reforms that are not created by major law breakers.
Now this administration wants to build 600,000 houses when between the them they have not been able to lay out, plan and establish such and the money deal on that is completely corrupt and will certainly put Simbalapitiya in the cross hairs as we will certainly have review on that China contract. It is also charming that another signatory on this unapproved loan suddenly died of a heart attack AFTER going into hospital. This is why the Kumaratungas will have to skip a generation in politics. We are tired of the NAME BRANDS of this set and Kumaratunga needs to stay in retirement in her nation of dual citizenship and not try and meddle in Sri Lanka any longer,
Her own mother warned her of playing such games on the public and what the repercussions for such would be and those should not be repaeted on her children because she doesn’t want to give up the act.
